Old Flame Fitzroy Details

Fitzroy residence Old Flame was stripped back to its bare bones to make way for a home that was simultaneously calm and dramatic. Old Flame is a place where colour and class meet creating a home that meshes indulgent living with Fitzroy character.

Created solely for the homeowner’s enjoyment, Old Flame was not concerned with boosting its resale value. The brief involved turning four-period bedrooms into two to make way for a new master wing with an ensuite and walk-in wardrobe, a guest bedroom, den, powder room and a spacious extension.

The oversized open-plan kitchen boasts a custom Arabescato stone island bench and a bar backed by glossy green stone displaying a selection of bottles on open shelving. Adjoining the bar is a cosy nook that captures the energy of a hidden Fitzroy gin bar.

A steel-framed glass arched doorway directs you between living spaces. The lounge room is sun-filled and window-lined, displaying the garden and dip pool. The bathrooms are clad in a grey honed marble that complements its brass faucets. Painted in a dramatic, ‘Oxblood’ red, this double-fronted cottage is a stand out from front to back.
